In Phoenix it's hard to really put the old "No white after Labor Day" rule into play because our weather really doesn't make it applicable. Lucky us, we get a couple more weeks with our favorite whites.
But those of you who saw low 90s in our forecast this week know that our time for summer, eyelet and linen whites have officially expired. Time to put those breezy, white pants and flowery blouses in storage.
HOWEVER, winter white this year is in the making. It's not hard to wear, and with all the leather back in, this winter's white is going to be like a breath of fresh air.
Stick to rougher, heavy fabrics like leather, wool, and bouclé. Pair the stark pale with your favorite black boots and gloves. If you're not totally used to the fresh-snow white, winter look, then go for the off-white or creamy white color when you can.
Here's a gorgeous Armani Blazer, beautiful with charcoal pants and shoes:Long-sleeved dresses are on top charts this winter, too. Great for Phoenix, and great in white. Here's one by Ralph Lauren Black Label:
Although it's always a pity to put away our light, free-spirit whites, this winter has got the fashion world wrapped around winter white--so, don't be too sad.
Yours truly,
Emily Timm
