Jasiri na Zuri

Jasiri na Zuri.
Translation: Bold and Beautiful. Those are just a couple of words to describe statements African fashion is making this season as it steps out fiercely on the runway. With Gwen Stefani's fashion line L.A.M.B. using African-inspired elements for their spring 2011 line, and designers Jacques van der Watt along with Danica Lepen winning designer of the year award (for Africa) last year for their line Black Coffee, you can be sure many will be flaunting African-inspired designs, especially as the weather warms up. There's something about African designs that makes them so bold yet so beautiful--maybe it's the deep colors, the tribal patterns, or the silky skirts and quirky cuts. Whatever it is, you can be sure it's in style.
