When it comes to fashionable movies, one character stands out in my mind: Elle Woods. Besides the fact that Legally Blonde is one of my favorite movies, Elle Woods really does have an eye for fashion, as proved by her wardrobe that is practically a reflection of Barbie’s closet.
Elle’s love for pink can be seen in her outfits throughout the movie. Towards the beginning of Legally Blonde, Elle’s clothes stand out as flirty, girly and, of course, as pink as can be. But as the movie progresses, Elle adopts a more professional look for her studies at Harvard. Even though Elle must channel a polished look to prove her seriousness at law school, she doesn’t turn straight to plain pantsuits and still manages to incorporate a feminine approach. Elle’s patterned blouses, classy cardigans, structured yet bright and girly dresses, and accessories such as flower hairclips and glittery beanies show fellow students her determination to become a lawyer without Elle losing her sense of self.
