Welcome to the 60s

Grace Kelly

Grace Kelly donned it in the ‘50s and ‘60s, and now characters are rocking it on the hit TV show “Mad Men.” This fall the classic full skirt returned as a fashion staple. With the popularity of “Mad Men,” 1960s fashions and silhouettes have been reinstating themselves in women’s wardrobes. In fall 2010 fashion shows from Prada to Louis Vuitton, models strutted down the runways dressed in full and flowing knee length skirts paired with a tighter bodice usually tucked in.

This throwback trend proves that longer skirts aren’t always matronly or bland. Full skirts can be found in a variety of patterns from neutrals to bright prints and look great when worn with some stylish pumps. So instead of hiking up those hemlines, channel your inner 1960s housewife for a fashionable fall.
