Fruity

I love "look of the week/day" themes because it's one thing to look at magazine editorials and appreciate the couture styling, and quite another to see how individuals are styling themselves for the real world. However the "world" in question often has a great impact on this everyday styling. I enjoy foreign look books the most, because you're always guaranteed to see something new or inspiring. Seeing other's looks always helps me re-envision my own wardrobe.
A famous publication in Japan is dedicated to this very idea of "the look of the day." Simply titled, Fruits, this magazine's pages are strictly reserved for photographs of Harajuku street fashion.
Although the styles captured may not be the most accepted in the US, I think fashion should be anything but conventional. I always take away little things like a new way to tie a scarf or another way to wear that over sized tee rather than the overall aesthetic.

These are just a few looks from the Fruits issue my friend brought back for me from Japan last summer:

have a happy week everyone!
