Nestled beside the bay in Northern California, San Francisco offers a diverse mix of fashion. The chilly bay area weather causes layers to be a major part of the city’s fashion, but on a beautiful day when San Francisco gets that California sunshine, San Franciscans throw on lighter pieces including dresses, skirts, shorts, t-shirts and tanks.
San Francisco may have experienced the famous “Hippie Movement” back in the 1960s, but much of that bohemian aura can still be seen in fashion today. Vintage pieces from boutiques, abundant accessories, patterns, tunics, flowy skirts and dresses, among other items add personality to each unique look.
Many San Franciscans may hone the bohemian look, but the city also represents sophistication and high-end fashion. Union Square, a fashionistas top destination in the city, is made up of shops ranging from BCBG to Christian
Dior and from Marc Jacobs to Prada. Stores such as these make up the wardrobe of many city dwellers.
Maybe I’m biased coming from Northern California, but in my eyes, San Francisco is the place to be for any fashion-forward individual.
