Ever since I watched the documentary “Valentino The Last Emperor,” I have had an obsession with the fashion house. Even though Valentino Garavani retired in 2008 and former Gucci designer Alessandra Facchinetti took over the company, the fashion brand continues to create great deigns. Since the 1960s, Valentino has dressed people including Jaqueline Kennedy, Elizabeth Taylor, Audrey Hepburn, Sophia Loren, Gwyneth Paltrow, Julia Roberts and Anne Hathaway.
Valentino is most famous for its gowns which are stunning and absolutely beautiful. No two gowns are alike and each one is unique in its own way. Each Valentino gown is hand sewn with exquisite details such as flowers, ruffles and beading. The combination of details, color and structure make the gowns both elegant and dramatic.
Many of Valentino’s designs use a black an white color palette, but red is the brand’s true trademark. The shade of red used in many Valentino pieces goes by the name “Valentino red.”
Valentino has already been a huge part of the fashion world for over 45 years, and I don’t see the fashion house slowing down anytime soon.
