I desire
It's been getting colder and colder lately. Today we had some snow in London and I have just seen on the forecast that the weather will be getting worst, possibly with a lot of snow coming in the next few days. Right now, I miss the sun and I want to wrap myself up as much as possible keeping warm. The winter, is a lovely time to be indoors, with my hot chocolate, hummm, but going out is a whole different story...
So, looking on the net for some cosy and trendy knits, I remembered the work of Sweden's most extraordinaire knitwear designer Sandra Backlund. Her work is so avant-garde, complex and utter sublime.
All the work is so dimensional, it's quite amazing how she uses wool! I love the different textures, the volume and the intricacy of her work. The pieces above are from her latest collection, the ones below, are a selection from her older collections, kind of irrelevant since all the pieces are truly timeless.
I feel really inspired by those looks. I so wish I could knit or even better, I wish I could lay my hand on one of those pieces now!

Keep warm and see you soon.

Old and new! And a fabulous find at Alexander McQueen
Today's post is an outfit one. As we approach Christmas I think is quite nice and mood lifting to wear a seasonal sparkle. I love a bit of sequin and bling and this time of the year with celebrations and parties coming along I always take the opportunity to wear my glammish bits.
Combined with this outfit post I also take the chance to show you my Christmas present to myself.....My new Alexander McQueen bag! Oh, I was just so delighted as I managed to get my hands on this amazing flapper toy satchel bag. It was the just style I was looking for.
It was hard, but definitely worth it to queue for about 2 hours in the freezing cold and then at least another half hour inside this building before I eventually got in. Once inside the sale room, it was like heaven, although the prices were not cheap. My budget originally was much smaller, but somehow, phoning a friend, going 50-50, laughs, I could not help myself in the end.
I also totally adore my Christopher Kane leggings for Topshop. I was just so lucky to find one, in my size(hurray), on the rail at the flagship store. They had been sold out for months and I could not believe my luck. Snap!
Combining old and new. The dress is an old Victorian petticoat, so it's in fact a skirt and the bolero is vintage, I bought it at a car boot sale for a couple of quid.
The lining of the bag is so gorgeous, I just fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.
Bolero: Car boot sale, Dress: it was my grandmas skirt, Leggings: Christopher Kane for Topshop, Belt: Vivienne Westwood, Bag: Alexander McQueen, Shoes: Office.
So, I am already rocking around my Christmas tree with some nice, new and early arrivals... I just can't wait for surprises!
How about you?
See you soon.

Barbie wears Louboutin.
Today's post is about Barbie!
I love Barbie... I always have. You guys know I have a Hello Kitty collection, but I also have a Barbie collection too. It's not a big one, nothing compared to the world domination of HK.
I currently have 9 Barbies. I always tried to buy a few different ones, with different hair colour like brunette and red. By the way, I love red haired Barbies, I must say I went through a stage of buying a few of them, and then I had to stop, otherwise my storage room would soon burst.
I bought my first Barbie at the age of 9. I had to beg my mum for ages for her to get me one. I am sure she was avoiding it, as she knew a simple doll would not come cheap.
Soon, along with Barbie, I was demanding all the stuff that Barbie just has to have, of course... Living room, bedroom, swimming pool, hairdressing salon and boutique, not forgetting that fantastic bath and shower with swans on the shower door! (Totally heart it).
With the items that I had, I would then get together with my cousins and neighbours and have an actual Barbie town going across my entire flat. That was the only way she could properly drive her pink metallic convertible!
Nowadays, Barbie demands more than that... She wants her shoes designed by Christian Louboutin!
And so Christian Louboutin has collaborated and created this amazing limited edition doll.
Barbie 'Cat Burglar' has a very audacious cat suit and 3 absolutely gorgeous and adorable pairs of Christian Louboutin shoes and 1 pair of leopard print boots which are just to die for. They all come with appropriate shoe box and shoe bag as well.
OMG!
I also love that she red haired! After all, it's my favourite colour for Barbies.(I have 3 ginger ones.)
A must have for your collection and a good investment too. They are currently on sale for £100. Sold out presently at Net-a-porter, but more coming out soon.
See you.

Fridays @ Portobello & around town
I have been a happy, busy, busy bee for the last few days, sorry for the lack of posting, missed you guys!
Quick catch up on the things I have been up to...
I was lucky enough to go to the Alexander McQueen sale on Thursday which was MAD! Queued up for over 2 hrs in the freezing cold! It was a real nightmare (in the queue) and heaven at the sale room. (Will post about it, so stay tuned.)
Friday, had a really cool day as a market trader helping my friend with her vintage sale. I loved it! Despite the cold...I went really well prepared with loads of layers, I had a really cool, chilled day, met up with loads of cool people, took some pics for the blog and sold loads of stuff. I was so tired when I got home.
Yesterday, I went to a wedding, which was lovely and I had a real good time. The bride looked fantastic. Congratulations to the newly weds!
And finally, today posting some street style pictures, this time around taken at Oxford Street and Portobello Market.
...Some cool people around...

Street Style
Anna, Oxford Steet.
Cool velvet legging and a lovely studded leather bag, looking fierce yet relaxed with her vintage boots.
Lilly, at Topshop, Oxford Street.
She just looks so adorable, I love the detail of the bow tie and long socks. Cute.
Gemma, Portobello Market.
Showing off her cool new bag which she had just bought at the market. I like the nautical blazer mixed with the tartan.
Andrea, Portobello Market.
Keeping warm with a lovely knitted fur hoodie and I also love the asymmetric cardi too.
I am keeping it brief today, because I am still recovering :)
See you soon.

Mega Vintage sale!
Good news!
Many of you, my lovely readers have commented about visiting Portobello Market... Fridays is the best day, because of the vast selection of vintage items and THIS coming Friday is going to be even better...
A very good friend of mine, who's has a lovely and quirky stall at the market on Fridays and Sundays has organized an amazing mega vintage sale.
There will be a huge selection of items, going for just £10 each!!! Utterly bargain.
I'll be there giving her a hand and looking after her stall for the day!
So, this would be a lovely and great opportunity to meet some of you. Come by to have a look and say hello if you can :)
The stall is under the Westway, the bridge over Portobello Road. I am sure you'll be able to find me under my layers and my huge gloves!
(My dear friend Sue and I)
Everything must go and I am sure it will be a lot of fun.
Hope to see you there!

Quick and sexy inspiration
Today's post is a sexy and cool inspiration. A great editorial which I have found at Elle Brazil.
I loved the combination of tailored items with sheer fabrics, amazing corsets and cheeky underwear on show. Quite grown up and fantastically gorgeous.
A tale of seduction.
An amazing corset with a simple tailored jacket, a deliciously daring look.
I am absolutely in love with this ever so lady like, ever so cute futuristic jacket.
This silk shirt with some detail on the shoulders is gorgeous. The stockings and suspenders are just pure sexy appeal.
Love the simplicity of this nude combo. A beautiful structured blazer and a body con dress never fails.
Sensually and cleverly use your imagination and play with your layers.
See you all soon.

The art behind Chanel fragances
Hello everyone,
I was missing blogging so much! I was away with a friend for a few days. We went up to Manchester, it was quite cold and very rainy, still it's always nice to travel and we had a good time.
Back in London town the other day I had the opportunity to attend the Chanel Baudruchage demonstration.
Baudruchage, it's the distinctive art form to seal the bottles of the most luxurious fragrances in the world. It was very interesting to see it because it's a very skilled process.
Chanel actually only hire 8 women, called Metier d’Art. All the work is done manually, bottle by bottle, it takes them around 7 months training.
The 3 stage technique complies in using a very thin rubber which looks like a thin skin, the skin is quickly wrapped around the bottle neck and lid. Secondly, the black cord is meticulously wrapped around the seal and then cut. Finally the hot wax is applied onto the same spot and marked twice with the Chanel logo.
It's a very luxurious finish, also functional because this rubber seal not only helps to preserve the scent but also guarantees the quality of the brand to the customer proving that the product hasn't been tampered with.
The 8 ladies employed by Chanel can produce 100 bottles an hour, in total an average of 2.500 bottles are hand sealed by day.
They normally will wrap the rubber skin and the cord in one batch and finish all off in the afternoon stamping all the bottles with the wax.
This treatment is reserved for the extrait concentration, the most luxurious form of perfume.
Another reason to love Chanel!
It's quite amazing how much effort goes into a single product.
See you soon.
