First time for trilby!

Hiya!

I decided to do another outfit post today. Sharing with you guys some pictures with my trilby hat. My first time I wearing one! My beloved gave it to me just before Xmas and because I'd never had one before, I just wasn't very sure if suited me.

As I am good girl, a horder and passionate about clothes, not surprisingly I do wear most of the stuff I get given, so I decided to give a go on the hat and came up with this look which I named the 'glam spy'.

The glam, comes from the sequined leggings, a subtle sparkle for the outfit.

I guess I was inspyred by this book too, one of my favourites from the library when I was a kid. I finally got the original english version of it. It's so cute!

The trilby has grown on me and I really like it.

What do you think?

White Winter

Now I know that it doesn't snow in Tempe, but last time I checked it is still winter. This leads me to ponder why on earth I saw a girl today wearing WHITE shorts over tights/leggings? The top half of what she was wearing was cute, some cape like sweater thing, which is currently in style, capes and coats, but then the lower half of her was begging for renewal. It may be a white winter in flagstaff but it is not okay to wear summer shorts over tights! So ladies please, like our last post, don't half ass it, and certainly don't wear white. The season of scarves, coats and boots will be long gone before we know it. Enjoy it while it last and keep those summer itches in for a few months longer.

Jailbird

Hello my lovely readers,

Today an outfit picture. Keeping it simple with a cute woolly striped dress, a new find from my local charity shop, really quite cute and it was only £6, of course such a bargain, I couldn't resist...

Teamed up with a cool structured blazer from Zara and accessorized with a lovely McQueen cravat. I bought the cravat because I already have a skull silk scarf and the cravat is slightly different because it's made of cotton. Perfect for the colder days, in fact I was freezing, so I am also wearing a fur gilet over the jacket.

Last highlights from Sao Paulo fashion week.

Hello everyone,

Today's a quick post! Just a mixture of some unusual and funny, clothing and make up displayed at the Sao Paulo fashion week.

Neon:

Some really conceptual and funny pieces. Bringing your inner animal out, the street is a jungle right down to your feet.

Koi shoes?

Tucano, owl and an elephant, the variety of our modern jungle.

Alexandre Herchcovitch:

What a wicked make up. The models looked great down the catwalk!

2ND Floor:
Just loved those shoes so much, I had to post a close up of them... They are designed by Petula Silveira. I really would love to have a pair, the grey ones are just devine!

That is the end of SPFW.
See you tomorrow with an outfit post!

Please...don't half-ass-it

Fashionistas...

A trend I found walking around campus today: girls are half-assing their outfits.

I saw this one girl who had on these gorgeous, high heel, calf boots. Now, she was wearing some nice jeans, so that's ok. But then she wore a tshirt with it... A TSHIRT with boots that hot?! No way. Put on your favorite hot top and a cute jacket or scarf. Boots that beautiful deserve to be paired with something equally awe-worthy.

Second example, I saw a girl in my sociology class who was wearing a really pretty black and white blouse with a light, rhinestone-collared sweater...and then it all came crashing down to light-colored jeans...no-no. First, light-colored jeans are to be saved for the summer and spring. Second, don't ruin a feminine blouse w/ jeans. Dress it w/ some nice slacks or a skirt. If you really have to wear jeans, then wear your best black jeans.

So, tip of the day, don't half-ass your outfits; it looks silly. Either dress up and look your best, or wear your most comfortable jeans and a sweatshirt.

That's all for now.

Underwear/ Outwear outfit

Hello folks,

Yeah, today's outfit is a relaxed and cool combination. I was very much inspired by underwear worn as outwear, a promising hit for the next season and also inspired by some of my previous posts.(1 picture, Quick and sexy inspiration).

I felt feminine and comfortable, I had this felling of almost just leaving my bed and with no much effort leaving home to work... (of course, that is not true) but it felt that way.

The fun part for me, was to combine these gorgeous silk, rosy, ever so feminine and ladylike pieces with a modern pair of slate grey cotton harem pants, which have a cool, almost pyjama feel. Just teamed it up with some cute shoes and bag in nude, with a good mix of jewellery. Unbrushed hair on a bun to complete the look and ready to go.

This gorgeous Luella bag was an amazing find from a charity shop. It was only £8!

It's made of the most amazing soft leather.

I love this silk bed jacket, not only because it looks like a vintage piece but also because it's just so cosy and padded on the inside, a little luxury.

I totally adored her look. A unique 2 different fabric panelled coat and some cool leggings, teamed up with a gorgeous pair of Ash wedged trainers. Nice!

Mayuko, Westbourne Grove.
She looks adorable wearing a lovely faux fur coat and gorgeous pair of patent leather shoes.

Joey, Portobello Road.
An urban feel, with a nice parka teamed up with some cool accessories, I love her extra long gloves and detail of the folded boots.

Louis Vuitton Fall 2010

For the Fall 2010 Louis Vuitton Menswear, the designer had keen eye on a sophisticated look and yet somehow managed to invite life preservers and man purses into the mix. Even though half the collection is what we aspire our men to look like, I think the image present is a good representation of the what I am talking about, I wonder when vest jackets became a trend again? The usage of grays and browns are prominent throughout the whole line and while giving us a hint of color like yellow and blue, it really represents fall. There really is nothing better than men well-dressed up in fitted jackets and a nice pair of pants.

Sao Paulo Fashion Week 2010 - Capsule post!

Hello fellow bloggers,

This is a huge post covering some of the shows and highlights from Sao Paulo fashion week Autumn/Winter 2010. It started on 17TH of Jan and it finishes tomorrow.

So, I am writing a capsule post which sums up the last 4 days. This post is a small selection of some my favourite shows, with a nutshell review from me.

Here is the usual peep, I hope you enjoy!
(in alphabetical order, click on the pictures to enlarge.)

2ND Floor

Youthful, playful and quite quirky was the show presented by new label '2ND Floor'. The highlights are the weirdly cute owl hats and lovely tailored capes, teamed up with spray painted jeans.
The shoes are made by Petula Silveira and are just divine, I want a pair!

Amapo

An interesting collection. Highlights are the garments made of zippers. As usual a lot of colour was thrown in the mix, which is the brand signature.

Animale:

Beautiful prints, sharp tailoring, cuts and slashes with a grown up rock chick attitude. Love it!
Again, also fascinated by the shoes!

Maria Bonita:

Inspired by the architectural designs of Lina Bo Bardi. This is a beautiful, well tailored collection. It's meant to be simple and minimal but I think the result is very complex and quite unique.

Priscilla Darolt:

Sexy dominatrix seems to be the look for her daring Winter collection. Hell for leather!

Ronaldo Fraga:

Full of surprises, the designer brought the models to the catwalk wearing masks with faces on, on the back of their heads and wigs on their faces giving the impression they were walking backwards.
Totally love the 2ND look!

Rosa Cha:

Taken by the hand of Alexandre Herchcovitch in his first collection for this swimwear brand, he has designed the most amazing and unsual designs for the beach!
I love it though, it's romantic and punky at the same time. I would definitely wear it as underwear/outwear, for example as a bodysuit with some tailord trousers or under a sheer dress.

Samuel Cirnansck:

It's not easy to take tables and lampshades to the catwalk. I love the designer's idea of the lampshade hat, which totally adds an element of fun to this so well impeccably tailored collection, ever so Dior-ish if you ask me.

Triton:

I normally enjoy their collections... this one I thought it was a hit and miss. It seems that they were aiming in too many directions... There were some cool looks and I loved the long boots. Not so sure on the even higher version of the 'rocking horse' shoes, though.

Well that is it folks!
I have some lovely 'highlights' to share with you and will post them soon.
It's bed time for me now :(
See you soon.
